Who We Are, More Or Less!
We are a church in downtown Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, the 3rd building to have the name Wesley ... the first being Wesley Methodist Church established in 1880; the current 3rd sanctuary (right hand side of the above photo) was consecrated in 1954, with the CE Wing (left hand side) added in 1962. The Congregation's Music Program under the direction of Phyllis McTaggart is one of our strengths. On a good Sunday, we have 15 voices in the Choir! We are proud of our Outreach to the wider Church through our contributions to the United Church Mission & Service Fund and to the wider community around us through: Food Bank Donations; Support of Pat's Pantry which helps volunteers teach our Aboriginal Children how to cook; Support of 2 refugee families from the Karen State in Myanmar, who came to us from out of the Refugee Camps in Mai Lai, Thailand; Support of Camp Tapawingo through our Market Garden Project; Support of Women transitioning from a Safe-House into their own residence through the provision of "Fresh Start Kits" ... 5 every month; Support of St. Andrew's College through the College Sunday Project. Future Planning Committee News The Folk at Wesley are looking to their future and the options that they might choose. One of those might be to move out of the building and look for something more affordable for its shrinking membership numbers. A committee has been struck to look at the future of the building, and who might want it: another Congregation, a Developer etc.? Sundays Sunday School has resumed!
